Corned Beef Lunch Sale!

Jim Charters, a Dayton History spokesperson is talking about ‘Dayton Inventions” like, James Ritty’s invention of the cash register, Kettering’s automobile self-starter led to Delco, the Wright Brother’s airplane and more. This is at the Dayton Woman’s Club, on Thursday, at 11:30am.
The House of Bread was founded with the belief that no one deserves to go hungry. Over 30 years since then they continue to operates the same way. At the 9th Annual Empty Bowls you enjoy soups from many local restaurants and breads from Evans Bakery and Texas Roadhouse. Ticket sales directly benefit their mission to serve 365 days a year! This is at the Mariott Hotel by University of Dayton, Thursday, 5pm & 6:15pm.
The Natural Foods Plus Juice Cabooserecently opened in Kettering at 3070 Far Hills Ave. They are hosting a weekly Hydration Presentation every Thursday at 6:30 to 7:30pm. Ricky Poole is offering a free Juice of their choice for attending this event.
Tomfoolery Outdoors and the Massie Creek Paddlers are bringing the best paddling films of the year to The NEON. You’ll be inspired to explore rivers, lakes and oceans, push extremes, embrace the paddling lifestyle and appreciate the wild places. Tickets are $11 in advance and $15 at the door. Thanks to Bonbright Distributors you will get a drink ticket for a tasty Oskar Blues Brewery or Cigar City Brewing beer. Thursday, 7pm.
Hot Soups for a Cool Cause. This luncheon is at Christ Episcopal Church and is a fundraiser for the Peace museum. Friday, 11:30am to 1pm.
Audrey Starr is a candidate for this year’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year, and her Team Starr Power is hosting its first fundraiser. It is called Yoga for a Cure and for just $25 includes both a one-hour beginning yoga session and wine and refreshments. It is at Day Yoga Studio, 1100 Brown St., Friday, 6 to 8pm.
Heralding the end to another chilly winter here in Dayton, the Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies are excited to announce their first festival for the 2019 season, set for Friday, March 15 from 5-10pm at the Yellow Cab Tavern.
Learn how Oakwood evolved over 70 years from settlement, to village, and later city. The Oakwood Historical Society’s Tom Morrow will present “How Oakwood Grew, Plat by Plat 1872-1956” at Wright Memorial Public Library on Sunday, at 2pm.
Ta-Nehisi Coates, the winner of the 2018 Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Nonfiction for We Were Eight Years in Power, will receive his award at a special ceremony to take place at 7pm, on Thursday, March 21 at the new Kettering Fairmont High School Auditorium. Due to illness, Coates was unable to attend the DLPP awards ceremony last October. Tickets are free, but they must be reserved by going to www.daytonliterarypeaceprize.org .
