Does it ever seem like you blink and a day, week, or month has gone by? And, we didn’t hit our goal or even get started? Planning for our goals and making the time to make them happen is how we get there.
This is a hands on workshop for each of us to map out our goals and plan how we’re going to get there…just with other supportive ladies and a glass of wine or two!
I’m so pleased to announce our guest speaker for our September Goal Driven Women, Caressa Brown! Caressa is an energetic goal-crusher and such an inspiration to many. We can’t wait for you to hear her story!
About Caressa Brown
Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Caressa L. Brown is a failed fashion model committed to providing the support system that she didn’t have to help others set goals and pursue their dreams in fashion. 27 year Fashion Industry veteran, she signed her first contract at the age of 12 and was scouted by two of the most prestigious modeling agencies in the world
Click Models in 1999 and Elite Models where she was selected as a regional semi-finalist in the legendary International
Elite Model Look Competition in 2001.
As the Owner/Director of the Dayton Emerging Fashion Incubator (DE-FI) LLC, a volunteer community Think Tank providing access for emerging designers, aspiring models, sewists, and textile makers into the fashion industry, Caressa has mentored and helped thousands of models launch their careers in fashion of which over 100 models have been signed to agencies around the world including Factor, Red, and Next. They have appeared on Project Runway and in the pages of Vogue and have walked for New York, Paris, and Milan Fashion Weeks for designers like Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, and Versace. (DE-FI) model alumn have also appeared in commercial ad campaigns for Michael Kors, Old Navy, Kohl’s, and Ashley Stewart and in prime-time television for shows such as Empire and in feature films on the Hallmark channel.
Caressa has also mentored/worked with nearly 20 emerging fashion designers who have been featured in Vogue Italia, Ebony, and Ellements. These designers have worked behind the scenes of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the newly formatted New York Fashion Week.
A 2007 graduate of Wright State University, it took Caressa 8 years to earn her degree in Organizational Leadership, a program that she was placed in because it took her so long to earn a degree, Caressa wanted to be an Engineer. Understanding that a delay in promise is not a denial of blessings, Caressa has crushed every goal that she has ever set
for her life based on God’s plan and timing.
A former columnist for Dayton Most Metro and Community Voices Producer for 91.3 Fm WYSO, in March of this year, Caressa was named to the 2019 class of the Dayton Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40 winner and is currently serving her 2nd term as a Commissioner appointed Trustee for the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District. By day
she serves as the Office Administrator for The Ohio State University’s College of Engineering Graduate Education and as the Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Engineering Graduate Education. She has been a caregiver for her mother for 27 years who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when Caressa was just 12 years old.
You won’t want to miss this month’s Goal Driven Women. Each month, we do a monthly check-in and review what we each accomplished the prior month, challenges & opportunities (and how we can help each other get there), then discuss & plan the coming month.
** I send out a worksheet ahead of time to all those who RSVP for the event. Watch for it one week before our Meetup.
Hope you can join us! Together we can plan our goals to make them a reality, as well as empower and support one another to achieve them…which is what this Meetup is all about!
Event is free. Cash bar available.
