Unraveling the Mystery of Reading and Using Sewing Patterns

January 30, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Have you ever wanted to use patterns but became confused when looking at the back cover? Why do those symbols and cutting guides seem like a foreign language? Then this is the class for you!

I will teach you about measurements, patterns, indie vs. commercial, fabric choices and more! We will also make a mock pattern (miniature), so you can get comfortable with laying out your pattern pieces and cutting them! Once you cut your fabric, you commit to the shape/size. Let me help it become less intimidating.

Prerequisite: None

Skill Level: Beginner

No experience needed

Ages: 12 and older

Class Max: 6

What you are going to take away from this class:
Taking measurements
Sizing History
Pattern Reading – Envelope
Pattern Symbols

Transfer markings from the pattern

You will also get hands-on experience with small pattern pieces to cut out.
