New Year’s Bird Walk
January 4, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 amFree
Bundle up and walk with nature guide Amanda Lawson, an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, and join her for a slow-paced walk through the cemetery and arboretum. Woodland is home to many diverse species of birds and the bare trees make it easy for viewing. You’ll be on the lookout for the wonderful “usual suspect” resident birds, along with winter visitors like Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, Brown Creepers, Golden-crowned Kinglets, and White-throated Sparrows. You may even see Woodland’s resident Red-tailed Hawks. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear a good pair of walking shoes and don’t forget your camera and binoculars!
All walks are from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and depart from the main entrance of the cemetery. Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum is located at 118 Woodland Avenue off of Brown Street near the UD Campus. This event is free and open to the public. To make a reservation or for more information, please call 937-228-3221.
