Connections:Moments of Clarity
April 2

The Dana L. Wiley Gallery presents two simultaneous exhibitions in April that offer perspective on Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.
Connections: Moments of Clarity brings together Dayton area artists and residents in memory care facilities to create paintings that spark connection and moments of clarity for persons living with Alzheimer’s or related dementias, while enabling families and friends in our community to find connections and moments of clarity with their loved ones.
The Darker Sooner brings the work of Dayton and Denver artist Karen Fisher exploring the impact of Alzheimer’s and related dementias on people and society through nine mixed media pieces. Her exhibition takes its title from the poem by Catherine Wing, Associate Professor of English, Kent State University.
The Dana L. Wiley Gallery will place the exhibition’s 32 paired works and three works donated by local artists into virtual silent auction event on May 15th.
All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter in support of their work to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementias through brain health.
