16 Sweep Clayton Clean – Spring Clean-up
May 16, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
In the interest of assisting the Clayton community in removing junk and debris and other bulk items which have been accumulating during the winter months and the COVID-19 stay at home orders, the annual Spring Sweep Clayton Clean will continue to be held on Saturday, May 16th at 200 Woolery Lane from 8 am till noon or containers are full.
However, due to COVID-19 and ensuring the community’s continued safety and health, volunteers will not be available to unload material from vehicles into roll-offs as in past events. Residents will have to unload the material themselves into the roll offs, nothing may be left outside the roll offs. Residents are also asked to continue to use all recommended safety precautions as directed by the Governor and Public Health: Dayton & Montgomery County including wearing gloves and masks while in public. Limited staff will be at the site directing traffic and ensuring appropriate social distancing measures are maintained the entire time. Normal bulk items can continue to be disposed in the roll offs. Per our regular regulations, batteries, fluids, paints, freon, tires, or other hazardous materials cannot be deposited.
To ensure staff safety there will also be no wood chipping available and brush will not be accepted in rolls offs. In lieu of wood chipping, Montgomery County Solid Waste accepts yard branches and other yard waste as long as the logs/branches are not longer than 4’ and smaller than 24” in diameter. Their hours of operation are 8am – 3 pm on Saturdays at 1001 Encrete Lane in Kettering. You must provide photo ID demonstrating you are a Montgomery County resident to drop material at the Solid Waste District.
