On Memorial Day, tornadoes destroyed 211 homes and 43 businesses in Montgomery County, according to emergency management officials. The tornadoes caused major damage to another 420 homes and 54 businesses. In Greene County Beavercreek over 850 houses and 100 apartment buildings were damaged. The Miami Valley has responded in this first week with water, food, clothing, and volunteering their time to help.
The need will continue and many local businesses are now posting benefit shows and ways to donate funds to recovery efforts. Here’s a list of upcoming events that will help with recovery efforts:
