Enjoy a casual ride through the country and a scenic overlook on top of the Germantown Damn
The “No Payne No Gain” ride will consist of mostly flat to gentle rolling hills through Ohio farm country with very light traffic throughout most of the ride. A great ride for cyclists at all skill levels. The well-marked course stretches out the first 14 miles into Germantown where you will find yourself riding past quaint old houses and the beautiful old Shuey Mill.
Just outside Germantown the course enters the bike path and stops at a shaded pavilion within Kercher Park for water and energy snacks. Shortly after leaving Kercher Park, participants will climb a short fun hill before crossing over the Germantown dam with a beautiful view of the area.
The course continues through Farmersville to a second rest stop at the Farmersville Fire Station and proceeds back towards the Payne Recreation Center where JDRF will have more refreshments upon your return. The total loop mileage is ~36 miles. The distance to the rest stop is ~14 miles (Kercher Park) and 26 miles (Farmersville Fire Station).
