STEMM Charity Gala

Join the DaytonDefense Educational Foundation as we host the 2018 Science Technology Engineering Math and Medicine (STEMM) Charity Gala! A fantastic evening full of great people and wonderful food. This charity fundraiser event will help provide scholarships to students at Wright State University who have already been accepted into STEMM programs. At the Gala we will be presenting a Lifetime Achievement Award, and this year’s winner is Colonel Retired Colleen Ryan. Join us on Saturday, October 27th to help congratulate Ms. Ryan and raise funds for the DaytonDefense Educational Foundation STEMM program.

About Colonel Retired Colleen Ryan:
Colleen Ryan is the President, Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio. In this capacity, Colleen serves as the “face of Vectren” in the 17 counties Vectren serves in southwest Ohio, demonstrating in a tangible way Vectren’s commitment to the community and relationships within Vectren’s service area. Colleen has 30 years experience of executive management and leadership at all levels in the Air force, not-for-profit and private sector. She served as the 88th Air Base Wing and Installation Commander at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and retired in 2008 after 26 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. In her role as Base Commander, Colleen was instrumental in bringing Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the general community closer together. Colleen’s many accomplishments include serving as an Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

The DaytonDefense Educational Foundation provides financial investment to stimulate growth of the STEMM educated workforce in the Dayton region, and strives to make strategic investments that have a sustaining payback to the community and the defense industry in particular. Investments take many forms from long-term scholastic support, to short-term and one-time investments in projects that have an immediate benefit and/or may serve as models of future programs. The Foundation also partners with like-oriented organizations to cost and risk-share in support of other community based STEMM activities.
