Solar Eclipse Viewing @ the Library!

August 21 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Take time out of your busy day and drop by the library to watch an eclipse of the sun right out on the library lawn! (We won’t have a total eclipse, but we will be at 89% totality, which is still incredible.) For the first time in one hundred years, the U.S. will be the prime location world-wide to watch the eclipse occur!

What you can expect (all times Ohio-time): The eclipse will start at 1:02 p.m., will reach 89% totality by 2:30, and will be completely over by 4 p.m. Check out this gadget created by the University of Berkeley and Google – just type in the name of any city in the US to see how the eclipse should look at that location!
Bring your lawn chairs, kids, blankets and snacks and watch the sky with us! The Library has special sunglasses for all who attend, compliments from a grant funded by STAR*NetNASA, the Moore FoundationGoogle and the Research Corporation for Science Advancement. Click for more details about this nation-wide effort to bring eclipse viewing glasses to public libraries across the country.
