PNC Mutt Strut
October 19 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm$22
Family-Friendly Dog Parade raising money for medically trained service dogs for our regional veterans.
For the past three years, PNC and Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc. have hosted an incredible event for military veterans – – the Annual Community Mutt Strut in both Pittsburgh and Erie PA. This year, PNC is bringing this event to the Dayton Region.
Over the past three years, these events have attracted over 1,000 participants and have raised more than $650,000 to sponsor and train 33 service dogs for our veterans in danger of suicide. Your support will literally save lives and have a direct and positive impact on regional veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI and other combat related injuries.
This is our first year, and we are honored to partner with Guardian Angels in the 2019 Dayton Community Mutt Strut at Eastwood MetroPark on October 19, 2019. Our veterans continue to commit suicide at an alarming rate of 20 – 22 per day. The 200 dogs that Guardian Angels have placed with veterans nationwide makes a large impact; in these cases the suicide rate has been ZERO. In our region, the need continues, with veterans currently on the waiting list to be paired with a dog.
A vast majority of those in need live on limited disability income and are unable to afford the $22,000 cost of one of these highly trained service dogs. The proceeds from the Mutt Strut will continue to be donated to Guardian Angels and will enable our veterans to receive these life-saving dogs at no expense.
As the lead host of this event, PNC has already sponsored a service dog, but we want to raise enough funds to ensure that the needs of every veteran are met. Thus, we ask that you consider supporting this wonderful community event by donating to the Mutt Strut.
