Global Views/Local Brews: Bosnia-Herzegovina/Dayton Connections
March 19 @ 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm
DCOWA believes that the more we understand the world around us, the better we will be positioned to meet the challenges ahead. Many Daytonians live out the idea “Think Globally, Act Locally,” and DCOWA is providing them with a new platform to share their experiences. This new series is an opportunity to meet people over your brew of choice, make new friends, and learn something new about Dayton’s international connections. The talks are short and there will be plenty of time for networking as well.
For our inaugural kickoff, Dayton Sister City Committee chair and DCOWA VP, Arch Grieve, will talk about Dayton’s connections to Bosnia-Herzegovina. In recent years, Arch has managed an internship exchange program for high school and college students and has traveled to the country three times since 2016. Recent trips have seen local government leaders and elected officials going to and from Dayton as well. Sharing from personal travel and hosting experience, Arch will share some insights about the country and talk about two upcoming exchange programs that are taking place later this year.
The format for the event will be as follows:
5:15-5:30 – Networking
5:30-5:50 – Talk
5:50-6:30 – Networking
