CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others to raise funds to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world.
The special grand kick-off for this year’s Dayton Area walk is at 1:30 pm at the Island Park bandshell. The kickoff is preceded by a lively praise band and mime troupe starting at 1:00 pm. You can start your walk anytime up until 2:30 pm if you can’t make the kickoff time. The route is easy and level, using Island and Triangle MetroParks’ pleasant wooded paths. Water and snacks are available at the start and halfway through the walk, where you turn around and come back on the same route. The Dayton Foodbank receives the local share of funds raised.
Together, we can help end hunger in our community and around the world!
