Strange Mechanics is a funk centered progressive jam band from Cincinnati, OH. They burst onto the Cincinnati scene in 2013 with their epic live shows featuring extended jams and a strong dose of the funk for which Cincinnati is known. From electronic grooves to vocal harmonies, from funk to reggae and more, the band seamlessly combines many styles throughout their extended jams, all the while keeping a groove that keeps the people dancing. Since their beginning, they have garnered a lot of attention throughout the midwest, such as being featured in Relix Magazines Digital Media Sampler, playing their first Summer Camp in 2017, as well as having some big names sit in such as Jason Hann, FreekBass, Chris Houser, and more. Strange Mechanics is on their way to becoming a household name in the Midwest jam scene, supporting acts such as Papadosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, The Werks, Aqueous, and Spafford just to name a few. Recently moving from a 5 piece to a 4 piece their lineup has been streamlined, and the same could be said about their jams as they are becoming more purposeful and exploratory than ever. With touring plans across the midwest in 2018, Strange Mechanics continues to captivate their listeners with an ever improving live show filled with extended jams, original music, and upbeat grooves.
