Butterflies in my stomach - it never fails, anytime I try a new fitness class and I have no idea what to expect. The latest free fitness class to hit the block, Dayton Free FitCamp, proved to be no exception. I follow enough Dayton area gyms and fitness activities that Dayton Free FitCamp undoubtedly popped up in my Facebook newsfeed. Free? Bootcamp style classes? Outside in a park? Okay, this has to be too good to be true. What's the catch? I decided to check out that Tuesday evening's class to find out for myself. Dayton Free FitCamp officially started in late July, and meets twice a … [Read more...] about Free FitCamp hits the Dayton area
I'd love to lie to you and tell you I love winter - that I'm a "glass half full" kind of girl who can find the silver lining to the ninety thousand snow storms we've had this winter. But I can't. If you've perused Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram lately, you're probably no stranger to the healthy living fad that seems to be popping up all over the place. Lately, it seems like everyone is proudly posting their Nike+ runs to Facebook and sharing their healthy recipes on Instagram (complete with the appropriate filter to make average-looking food seem high class, of course). It's honestly kind of fantastic. In a society where obesity is becoming the norm, it's refreshing to see a new demographic changing the standard and raising the bar for how we treat our bodies. It's amazing to see … [Read more...] about Healthy Living: Where Do I Start?
