Montgomery County has signed a huge deal with St. Vincent de Paul to move almost 150 employees to the Job Center as part of an effort to retool some of its family services. The Child Support Enforcement Agency will move from the Reibold Building at 117 S. Main St. in Dayton to the Job Center at 1111 Edwin C. Moses Blvd. next year, after about 50,000 square feet of space is renovated and reconfigured to accommodate them. The Federal Aviation Administration is partnering with three major companies to extend the range of drones. At an industry conference in Atlanta, the FAA said the partnership will study how drones can be used to fly further and in more populated areas, the next step in their integration into U.S. airspace that will go beyond its initial set of rules. An AK Steel joint venture that provides some of its raw material has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. On Tuesday, Grand Rapids, Minn.-based Magnetation LLC filed voluntary petitions for protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Minnesota. AK Steel has a 49.9 percent stake in the company, which owns three iron ore concentrate plants in Minnesota and an iron ore pellet plant in Indiana. One of the Dayton region's largest construction firms is consolidating its two local offices downtown. Miller-Valentine Group will move 42 employees from its Moraine office to the Barclay Building at the corner of First and Main Streets, which it bought early this year.
